Mumbai: Superstar Sunny Deol is back again with another sequel of the much loved war film Border. The actor took to instagrm to share the news with people. Today is also a special day as today is the which marks 27 years of the film Border and on this occasion makers of the film and actor Sunny Deol decided to reveal the news of Border 2.
Border 2 will be the sequel of superhit film ‘Border’ which was released 27 years ago on this date. Under the direction of J.P. Datta, the ‘Border’ film, released in 1997, had received a lot of love and support from the audience.
Taking to his Instagram handle, Sunny Deol shared a video for the announcement of the film. In the backdrop of the video, Sunny Deol can be heard saying, “27 saal pehle ek fauji ne vada kiya tha ki vo vapas ayega. Ussi vade ko pura karne, Hindustan ki mitti ko salam kehne, aa raha hai.”
The caption along with video said, “Ek fauji apne 27 saal purane waade ko pura karne, aa raha hai phirse. India’s biggest war film, #Border2 🇮🇳 Produced by Bhushan Kumar , Krishan Kumar, JP Dutta & Nidhi Dutta will be directed by Anurag Singh.”
According to recent reports, the makers are planning to start the shooting as the preparations are almost done. A report by Pinkvilla claimed that the makers are planning to release the film on January 26, 2026, i.e., Republic Day. The star cast of the movie is Sunny Deol, Akshay Khanna, Sunil Shetty, Ayushman Khurana, and Jacky Shroff. The year 2026 marks 29 years since the release of the ‘Border’ film, which was about the Indo-Pakistan battle of Longewala (1971).
