Ahmedabad: After captivating audiences in Mumbai, the British band Coldplay put on an enchanting show in Ahmedabad at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Saturday evening. This marked their first-ever performance in Gujarat, attracting a full house. Numerous images and videos from the concert highlighted the band’s musical prowess.

Lead singer Chris Martin made an effort to connect with the audience by greeting them in Gujarati, saying, “Tame logo aaje badha sundar laago cho. Hu tamare shahar ma aavyo chu. Kem cho Ahmedabad?” The excitement peaked during “A Sky Full of Stars,” where the stadium transformed into a dazzling display of lights, accompanied by fireworks. Encouraging everyone to put their phones away, Chris inspired the crowd to join him in singing, stating, “Your phone in your pocket, your hands in the sky,” which led to enthusiastic participation. He expressed gratitude to the audience for the memorable experience afterward.

The band shared their appreciation on their X account, thanking the large turnout. “Our biggest ever concert. Totally mind-blowing. Thank you Ahmedabad See you again tomorrow – and if you’re in India, please join us on Disney+ Hotstar from 7.45pm,” they posted.

Earlier that day, Coldplay shared a photo from the stadium featuring a poorly drawn cricket ball, humorously noting, “I think even Jasprit might struggle to bowl with this badly drawn ball, but at least it is almost spherical. It is such a pleasure to be here at this amazing stadium and to play in Ahmedabad for the very first time.” Coldplay is set to perform again in Ahmedabad today, with the Sunday concert also available for live streaming on Disney+ Hotstar.
