Mumbai: On January 27, TV actress Rupali Ganguly paid an emotional tribute to her late father, Anil Ganguly, on what would have been his birthday. Reflecting on his life struggles, Rupali shared a touching post on Instagram, describing her father as her hero and mentor, whose teachings continue to inspire her.
In her heartfelt message, she quoted him: “Hum yahan paise kamane ke liye nahi karm kamane aaye hai” (We are not here to earn money, but to earn our deeds). She expressed gratitude for his guidance, stating, “Not a day goes by when we don’t get signs that you are watching over us.” Rupali praised her father for encouraging his children to face challenges and realize their potential, emphasizing the unparalleled love he provided.

The tribute included a video montage featuring rare black-and-white photos of Anil Ganguly, alongside a clip where Rupali spoke about his journey from Kolkata to Mumbai, sharing a room with singer Jagjit Singh during their early struggles.
Anil Ganguly, a notable Bollywood filmmaker, passed away in 2016 at the age of 82. He is best known for his acclaimed films “Kora Kagaz” (1974) and “Tapasya” (1976), both of which won the National Film Award for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment. His later works include the 1985 film “Saaheb,” featuring Anil Kapoor and Amrita Singh, and several action films starring Mithun Chakraborty.
