Mumbai: Shah Rukh Khan has confirmed that Pathaan director Siddharth Anand has taken the helm of his upcoming film King, following Sujoy Ghosh’s departure from the project. Speaking at an event in Dubai, Khan refrained from sharing specific details but assured audiences that the film will be highly entertaining. Siddharth, known for action-packed hits such as Bang Bang!War, and Fighter, is co-producing King under his Marflix banner alongside Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment.

Khan described Siddharth as a “strict director” and praised the hard work being put into the film. He shared, “I’m shooting it for a couple of months, but I’ve been asked not to reveal much. However, I can promise you it will be entertaining, and everyone will enjoy it.” The film reportedly draws inspiration from Leon: The Professional (1994), with Khan playing the role originally essayed by Jean Reno. His daughter, Suhana Khan, is set to make her acting debut in the role previously played by Natalie Portman.

 

 

 

The movie also stars Abhishek Bachchan as the antagonist, marking his first major negative role in a large-scale commercial film. According to sources, Bachchan was intrigued by the complexity of his character and agreed immediately. Abhay Verma of Munjya fame will also play a significant role. The project promises a mix of action, drama, and gripping storytelling, heightening anticipation among Shah Rukh Khan’s fans.
