Shalini Pandey speaks for the first time ‘Charan Sewa’ scene in Maharaj

Pandey performed the role of Junaid’s fiancé, 'Kishori', who commits suicide after ‘charan sewa’.

After Junaid Khan’s debut film ‘Maharaj’, in-focus Shalini Pandey is often seen in headlines these days. She performs the scene of ‘Charan Sewa’ (service) in the movie with Jaideep Ahlawat. The actress talked first time about this scene in an interview.

Junaid Khan’s (the son of Aamir Khan) debut movie ‘Maharaj’ has streamed on the OTT platform Netflix. For his first film, Junaid is getting positive responses from the audience and critics. Other stars of the movie also got positive responses, including Jaydeep Ahlawat, Shalini Pandey, and Sharvari Wagh.

Pandey performed the role of Junaid’s fiancé, ‘Kishori’, who commits suicide after ‘charan sewa’. She talks about her experience of performing an intimate scene with a 14-year-elder actor than her, i.e., Jaideep Ahlawat.

She said, “I was tensed after the shot. After shooting, I told my team that I am not feeling comfortable; I want to stay alone for some time.”

About her character, she said that after reading the script, she thought her character was silly. But she realized that the conditioning of her character—what she did for Maharaj—was fine. Film producers Sidharth P. Malhotra and Jaideep also understood what she was feeling.

The whole scene is revealed as the Maharaj has intercourse with girls in the name of ‘Charan Sewa’. Over the years, the ritual has been that a man sends his daughters and daughter-in-law to Maharaj for ‘Charan Sewa’. When Karsandas, aka Junaid, gets to know about this, he fights against it and reveals the real face of Maharaj in front of the world.
