Mumbai: The film ‘The Mehta Boys’, directed by Boman Irani in his debut, premiered at the Indian Film Festival in Berlin, Germany.
Featuring Avinash Tiwary, Boman Irani, Shreya Chaudhary, and Puja Sarup, the film explores the emotional complexities of a father-son relationship. Avinash Tiwary expressed his enthusiasm about the film’s screening, calling it a “great honor” to present it to a diverse audience in Germany. He looks forward to sharing the film with Indian viewers, noting that the festival brings them closer to its release.
Previously, ‘The Mehta Boys’ received accolades at the Chicago South Asian Film Festival for its compelling narrative and strong performances. The film is produced by Boman Irani, Danesh Irani, Vikesh Bhutani, and Shujaat Saudagar, with a screenplay by Alex Dinelaris Jr., an Academy Award winner known for ‘Birdman’ and ‘The Revenant’. It is expected to be available on Prime Video soon.
In a separate note, Avinash Tiwary reminisced about his first encounter with actress Tamannaah Bhatia while discussing their collaboration in the streaming film ‘Sikandar Ka Muqaddar’. He recalled meeting her when she was in the 9th grade while he was attending an acting workshop after finishing his 12th grade. He noted that despite being younger, Tamannaah had a remarkable presence even then. After years apart, he was pleasantly surprised to find her warm and approachable on set, making their collaboration enjoyable.
