Kanpur’s Vaibhav Gupta has become the winner of the singing reality show Indian Idol 14. He won this title by defeating his fellow participants Subhdeep Das Chaudhary of Kolkata and Piyush Panwar of Rajasthan.
After winning the grand finale of Indian Idol 14 on Sunday night, 19-year-old Gupta was rewarded with a check of Rs 25 lakh from Sony Entertainment Television and a Brezza car from co-sponsor Maruti Suzuki India Limited. The singer said that he wants to make a career in playback singing.
Gupta said, ‘when I was a child I usually used to say that Idol (Indian Idol) is my dream and today it has come true for me. I am very happy and I feel very proud that I have given this happiness to my father. I thought that if I work hard for a long time, one day I will get it (Idol trophy) and today I have become the winner of Idol 14.’
The young singer wants to build his own music studio to start his musical journey with the cash prize he wins. He said, ‘I will build the studio of my dreams. I will create new songs in the studio and try my best to reach you with my voice and good music.’
