Jalandhar : Divisional Commissioner Pradeep Kumar Sabharwal today paid obeisance at Shri Devi Talab Mandir and prayed for the well-being of all. He also planted saplings, urging the district residents to unite for the cause of environmental conservation, and also inaugurated a Punjab National Bank ATM outside Shri Devi Talab Mandir.
While praying for the progress and prosperity of the people, the Divisional Commissioner emphasized that maintaining communal harmony is essential for a healthy society. He stressed that everyone should live life with love and affection, leaving behind animosities and conflicts. On this occasion, he visited various temples within the premises and sought blessings from the Mata Rani.
Upon his arrival at the temple, the Divisional Commissioner was welcomed by representatives of the temple management committee, led by the chairman, Sheetal Vij.
Mr. Sabharwal expressed that paying respects at this temple, a renowned Shakti Peeth in North India, brought him immense peace of mind. Later, he planted trees in the temple complex, delivering the message of environmental protection to the people. He urged that not only should more trees be planted, but they should also be properly cared for to make the state greener.
Mr. Sabharwal also shared his thoughts in the visitor book of Shri Devi Talab Mandir.
Prior to this, he inaugurated the Punjab National Bank ATM installed outside the temple complex. He remarked that thousands of devotees from across the country come to pay obeisance at Shri Devi Talab Mandir, and with the installation of this ATM, they will no longer have to go far to withdraw money if needed.
On this occasion, the Zonal Manager of the bank, Amritabh Anand, Circle Head Harvinder Singh Randhawa, Deputy Circle Head Captain G.S. Bath, Superintendent Ashok Wadhawan, and officials from the temple management committee were also present.
