The event, held along the National Highway between Jalandhar and Dhilwan, marking a significant step towards enhancing the green cover in the state.

Speaking on the occasion, Minister Balkar Singh announced that under this drive, as many as 20,000 saplings will be planted on both sides of the highway. He emphasized that this initiative would not only beautify the highway but also contribute to environmental conservation. The Minister highlighted that the Punjab Government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, is fully committed to strengthening the state’s environment by promoting green cover.

Minister also stressed the urgency of planting more trees to safeguard the environment, recognizing it as a crucial need of the hour. He praised the Forest Department for spearheading this unique initiative and ensuring the plantation of over 20,000 saplings along the National Highway.

Divisional Forest Officer Jarnail Singh, who was also present at the event, pointed out that a variety of saplings will be planted as part of this drive. He noted that these efforts would not only enhance the aesthetic appeal of the highway stretch but also promote greenery in the district, contributing to a healthier and more sustainable environment for future generations.
