Haryana STF’s major success: Gangster Aman Bhainswal extradited from the US

Chandigarh: In a major action against organized crime, the Haryana Police’s Special Task Force (STF) has successfully extradited wanted gangster Aman Kumar alias Aman Bhainswal from the US to India. This is the sixth extradition carried out by the STF since 2025 and the second major operation from the US, further strengthening the state’s anti-crime strategy.

DGP Ajay Singhal’s stern warning to criminals

Reacting to this major action, Haryana Director General of Police Ajay Singhal issued a strong message to criminals and absconding accused.
He said, “Those who think they can hide outside the country’s borders or escape the law through fake identities should understand that no one is beyond the reach of the Haryana Police.”

He further said, “Every criminal, whether in the country or abroad, will be brought to justice. Haryana is a state of law and order, not a haven for criminals.”

Criminal network spread across NCR and Haryana

Gangster Aman Bhainswal is accused of involvement in serious crimes such as firing, murder, attempted murder, extortion, and illegal arms smuggling. He operated an independent criminal network spread across Sonipat, Rohtak, Jhajjar, and Delhi-NCR. He has 10 criminal cases registered against him in Haryana and Delhi. Despite being a proclaimed offender, he fled abroad using fake documents to evade arrest.

Fake Passport, International Routes, and Legal Action

Investigation revealed that Bhainswal had obtained a passport using forged documents at an East Delhi address. On June 20, 2024, he traveled to Kuwait using this illegal passport and later reached the United States. A case was subsequently registered against him in Gohana, Haryana, under the Indian Penal Code (IJC) and the Passport Act. A Lookout Circular (LOC) was issued against him, an Interpol Red Corner Notice (RCN) was obtained, and he was formally declared a fugitive.

Bhainswal’s extradition is a testament to the STF’s technical surveillance, international coordination, and legal expertise. According to officials, this action sends a strong message to criminals who attempt to evade the law by traveling abroad. This success of Haryana Police shows that **criminals cannot escape the law by crossing borders.
