Amritsar: The head of the Aam Aadmi Party’s Vyapar Mandal in Amritsar’s Attari constituency is being demanded a ransom of 50 lakhs. The businessman has been seeking action for a week, but no hearing is taking place. As a result, other businessmen and people have blocked the Attari National Highway. The traders demand that their security should be ensured, and the government should give the police a free hand to work as effectively as the Yogi government in Punjab.
According to Jaswinder Singh Jas, who runs a Coca Cola agency in Amritsar’s Attari constituency, he has been receiving threatening calls for the last one week. A ransom of 50 lakhs is being demanded from him. His wife and son’s photo is being sent with a cross mark on it, but the police has not been able to trace the accused till now. His son is not able to go to school and he is imprisoned in the house. He has even complained to the SSP but the matter could not be resolved.
Jaswinder Singh says that they do not need free electricity but there is a need to deal with criminals strictly. If checking is done at Attari itself at this time, more than 100 youths will be found with illegal weapons.
Master Harjinder Singh, who is sitting on the dharna with Jaswinder, says that even before this, ransom has been demanded from many people in Attari itself. People are constantly living in fear and criminals are roaming around fearlessly.
He said that the purpose of today’s dharna is to wake up the government because now the water has gone above the head. Gang war is going on in Punjab which is spoiling the atmosphere of Punjab. The people sitting on the dharna are constantly raising slogans against the government and demanding justice.
