Govt Calls MBBS Exam Circular Fake, Issues Clarification

New Delhi, April 7: A viral circular claiming changes to a national qualifying exam for final-year MBBS students has been declared fake by authorities. The document had been widely shared on social media, causing confusion and concern among medical students.

The PIB issued a note along with the fake letter image allegedly issued by NMC last week. ” Beware of the letter circulating in the name of the National Medical Commission,” said the PIB fact-check.

    What the Fake Notice Claimed

The viral circular suggested that a national-level qualifying exam often referred to as the National Exit Test (NExT) would be applicable for certain MBBS batches and would replace existing systems.

However the officials confirmed that this claim is completely false.

NMC Urges Students to Rely on Official Sources

The National Medical Commission has urged students to check only official announcements on its website. Authorities stressed that any major decision regarding exams will always be communicated through proper channels.

The proposed NExT exam has been under discussion for years and has seen multiple delays. There is currently no confirmed timeline for its rollout, and no official decision has been announced for recent batches.
