7 Family Members Killed in Karnataka: 10-Year-Old Boy Unknowingly Travels With Parents’ Bodies

Bengaluru: A shocking revelation has come to light in the alleged murder case of seven members of his wife’s family in Karnataka. Accused Indushekhar had also planned to kill his 10-year-old nephew, but the child narrowly escaped. The accused drove around with him in his car while his parents’ bodies were packed in sacks.

Surprisingly, the child was unaware that his parents had been murdered and that their bodies were in sacks in the car. According to police, the accused had planned to kill the child as well after returning home.

Police said the child is the son of Shankar and Nalini, the last victims of the murders allegedly committed by Indushekhar and his minor daughter. The accused kept the child alive for some time so that he could answer phone calls from relatives and send messages to reassure them that the family members were alive and traveling.

Child Questioned About a Foul Smell in the Car

During the journey, the child questioned the accused about a strong odor emanating from the car and the sacks inside. Indushekhar allegedly told him that the sacks contained garbage and waste.

After the child fell asleep, the accused disposed of the bodies in the Shiradi Ghat area. He then returned to Bengaluru with the child.

Meanwhile, a missing person report had been filed at the Srirampura police station regarding the missing family members. Police were tracking the locations of the missing individuals’ mobile phones. Investigators found that the family members’ phones repeatedly displayed the same location, and their locations also matched the accused’s mobile phone.

The police were waiting for the accused to return. As soon as he reached the Halasuru area, police stopped his car and took him into custody.

Mobile phones found in the car, interrogation reveals seven murders

According to police, a strong odor emanated from the car when the accused was taken into custody. During the investigation, police also recovered the victims’ mobile phones, which were kept together in a handkerchief.

During interrogation, Indushekhar allegedly confessed to killing seven people. Police said the accused was about to kill a 10-year-old child after reaching home, but was arrested before he could do so. He had also planned to murder another person.

According to police, Indushekhar first killed his 40-year-old wife, Sunita. He then targeted his 65-year-old mother-in-law, Rupavati.

The accused then killed his 30-year-old brother-in-law, Shivakumar, his wife, Divya, and their 7-year-old son, Puneeth. The final victims were his second brother-in-law, 40-year-old Shankar, and Shankar’s wife, Nalini. Their 10-year-old son survived the incident.

Minor daughter also accused of assisting in the murder

According to investigators, Indushekhar allegedly groomed his minor daughter to help him murder his wife. She is suspected of aiding her father in the crime and is being considered a second suspect in the case.

Police said the accused purchased approximately 15 plastic bags to pack and transport the bodies.

According to the investigation, the accused attacked the victims while they were either sitting or sleeping. He allegedly struck them on the head with a grinding stone, rendering them unconscious. He then attacked them again to ensure their deaths.

Used to clean murder marks with chemicals

According to the police, after each murder, the accused used a grinding stone and cleaning chemicals to remove blood stains.

Initially, the police had difficulty finding any blood stains in the house. However, upon examination with modern forensic equipment, blood stains were found in various parts of the house, including the hall, rooms, and kitchen.

According to preliminary investigations, Indushekhar took two to three days to plan and execute each murder.

Currently, the police are investigating the entire sequence of events, the role of the accused’s minor daughter, and alleged plans for other murders in the future.
