Faridabad Factory Fire: Two Injured Workers Succumb to Injuries

Two men who were critically injured in a massive factory fire at the Mujesar industrial area in Faridabad have died from their burn injuries, police confirmed on 20 February 2026. The blaze is part of a larger industrial accident that has already caused significant casualties.

The victims, including Abhishek Monga (37) son of the factory owner and Pradeep Kumar (21), succumbed to severe burns while undergoing treatment at hospitals in Delhi after being injured in the fire earlier this week.

     Background: How the Fire Started

The fire broke out on Monday at a workshop area housing Kalkaji Lubricants and Shiv Steel Company in Sector 24 of Mujesar, Faridabad. Sparks from machinery reportedly ignited flammable chemicals stored on site, leading to multiple explosions and a rapidly spreading blaze.

The inferno injured more than 35 people, including workers, bystanders, two fire brigade personnel and policemen who were trying to control the fire. Several victims suffered burn injuries covering almost half of their bodies.

    Treatment and Ongoing Rescue Efforts

The injured were initially taken to civil and private hospitals in Faridabad, with several flown to Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi for advanced care due to the severity of their injuries. A number of victims remain critical and under intensive treatment, with two firemen still battling serious burns.

Emergency responders and police continue to monitor the situation as investigations into the incident and safety lapses are underway.

     Safety Concerns and Investigations

Officials have noted concerns about the storage of chemicals and safety protocols at the factory premises. The authorities have constituted an inquiry team led by district officials to probe the cause of the fire and explosions and determine accountability.
