Faridabad Jail Inmate Dies by Suicide in Medical Ward Bathroom; Was Under Treatment for Three Days

A case of a prisoner committing suicide early Monday morning in Neemka District Jail of Faridabad has come to light. The deceased has been identified as Rhtik alias Rankit Bhadana (25) from Ghazipur. He had been imprisoned for the last about 11 months in various criminal cases. Following the incident, chaos erupted in the jail administration.

The police have taken the body into custody and sent it to Badshah Khan Civil Hospital for a post-mortem, and an investigation into the matter has started.

Admitted to jail hospital for 3 days

According to jail sources, around 16 criminal cases, including assault and attempted murder, were registered against Rhtik alias Rankit. His health had been deteriorating in the last few days, due to which he was admitted to the hospital within the jail premises. During the night between Sunday and Monday, he hanged himself in the hospital bathroom.

It is being reported that when the prison staff did not see him on his bed, a search for him was started. During this, he was found hanging from a noose in the hospital bathroom. The staff immediately informed the authorities. As soon as the incident was reported, prison deputy Sajid Khan arrived at the scene and informed the higher authorities. After that, the body was sent to the hospital for a post-mortem.

Family members leveled allegations against the jail deputy

The deceased’s brother Rajesh made serious allegations, stating that his brother was tortured inside the jail. He alleged that the jail deputy Sajid Khan often physically assaulted him, which caused him to be mentally disturbed and led him to take this step.

Meanwhile, jail deputy Sajid Khan has completely denied all the allegations. He stated that all prisoners are treated equally in the jail and that Hrithik had been under mental stress for some time. He said that a fair investigation into the entire matter will be conducted.

Neemka Jail Previously in the Headlines

Faridabad’s Neemka Jail has been in discussion in recent months due to several serious incidents. In February 2026, a terrorist accused, Abdul Rahman, who was detained in the jail’s high-security ward, was killed by another inmate. Following this incident, several jail officials were suspended on charges of negligence.

Boiling Oil Thrown on the Inmate

In March 2026, a dispute between two inmates within the jail escalated to such an extent that one inmate threw boiling oil on the other’s face, causing severe burns. Additionally, in 2025, a prisoner under trial also died under suspicious circumstances, after which the family alleged medical negligence.
