Faridabad: A fire broke out at a scrap warehouse in Sector-10, Faridabad, around 1 p.m. on Thursday, reducing a large quantity of scrap and other stored materials to ashes.
Workers were present inside the warehouse when the fire broke out but managed to escape to safety. No casualties were reported in the incident.
Fire tenders and police teams reached the spot after receiving information about the blaze. Firefighters worked for several hours to bring the flames under control and prevent the fire from spreading to nearby areas.
Fire Sparks Panic in Faridabad Sector-10
The fire broke out suddenly and quickly spread through the scrap and other materials stored inside the warehouse. Thick smoke and flames triggered panic among local residents.
According to workers at the warehouse, an electric wire runs near the facility and a short circuit may have occurred, sending sparks into the area and triggering the fire.
However, the exact cause of the fire has not yet been confirmed, and police are investigating the incident.
Goods Worth Several Lakhs Destroyed
A significant quantity of scrap and other goods stored inside the warehouse was destroyed in the blaze. The value of the damaged goods is estimated to be several lakh rupees.
The exact extent of the financial loss is still being assessed.
Fire Brought Under Control After Several Hours
Fire brigade personnel made sustained efforts to contain the blaze and stop it from spreading to surrounding areas. After several hours of firefighting, the fire was brought under control.
Police spokesperson Yashpal said there were no casualties in the incident. He added that preliminary findings pointed towards a possible short circuit as the cause, while the police investigation is underway.
