Faridabad: Late Friday night in Faridabad, Haryana, the Municipal Corporation deployed bulldozers to demolish a Shiva temple and a mosque. Simultaneously, several other illegal structures were also razed. The administrative operation continued until Saturday morning.
As a security measure, a heavy police force has been deployed in the area. To maintain law and order, the government has also suspended internet services in the NIT zone for approximately 21 hours.

Administrative officials stated that this action was undertaken to facilitate the construction of an elevated road and the RRTS corridor. These demolition operations are expected to continue throughout the day today.
Why the Temple and Mosque Were Removed
Internet Services to Remain Suspended for 21 Hours
Dr. Vandana Disodia, Additional Secretary of the Home Department, issued an order stating that the administration had received intelligence indicating a likelihood of tension, unrest, and damage to public and private property during the ongoing demolition drive. To curb the circulation of inflammatory content and rumors via social media and messaging platforms (such as WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc.), internet services in this area will be suspended from 12:30 AM to 10:00 PM.
These Routes Have Been Closed
The Municipal Corporation team carried out this operation in compliance with an order issued by the NGT (National Green Tribunal). During this period, the route extending from Metro Mor to ESI Chowk passing through Masjid Chowk and continuing up to Sainik Colony Red Light Chowk—has been temporarily closed to traffic.
Police Issue Advisory
Police Spokesperson Yashpal stated that from 2:00 AM on the night of the 29th until 2:00 PM on the afternoon of May 30th, the route leading from Metro Mor to Sainik Colony Red Light—via ESI Chowk and Masjid Chowk will remain completely closed. Additionally, vehicular movement will also be restricted on the route leading from the DCP NIT office to Mulla Hotel.
These Alternate Routes Will Remain Open
The traffic police announced that the entry of vehicles into the restricted zones will be prohibited from all directions. Motorists heading towards Gurugram have been advised to utilize alternate routes. Heavy vehicles will be diverted towards Gurugram via Badkhal, Ankhir Chowk, MVN Chowk, and Pali Road, while light vehicles may proceed via BK Chowk, 4-5 Chowk, Patel Chowk, Badkhal Village Road, and Sainik Colony.
