Children Fall Ill During Tiranga Yatra in Faridabad Amid Heat and Crowding

Faridabad: Several schoolchildren fell ill during a BJP-led ‘Tiranga Yatra’ in Faridabad on Thursday, with some reportedly vomiting and others fainting amid the crowd and heat. The rally was attended by Haryana Sports Minister Gaurav Gautam.

The event, which was scheduled to begin at 7 a.m., reportedly started around 10 a.m. Students from several government and private schools had gathered to participate in the patriotic rally.

As the procession moved along its route, several children reportedly complained of uneasiness. Some began vomiting, while others fainted and collapsed. The situation triggered panic among teachers and parents accompanying the students.

Children Given Water and First Aid

Teachers and fellow students immediately stepped in to help those who fell ill. Some children were moved to shaded areas, while others were given water and first aid.

Videos and visuals from the spot showed students splashing water on the faces of children who had fainted. Parents and teachers also tried to fan the children to provide relief.

The condition of the affected children reportedly improved after they were moved away from the crowded area and given water.

    Parents Raise Questions Over Arrangements

The incident has raised questions over the arrangements made for the participation of a large number of schoolchildren in the rally.

Parents and others present at the event questioned whether adequate drinking water, medical teams, ambulances and crowd-management arrangements had been put in place, particularly considering the early-morning schedule and the number of children involved.

The delay in the start of the event, from the scheduled 7 a.m. to around 10 a.m., has also drawn attention amid the reports of children falling ill.

The rally was attended by Sports Minister Gaurav Gautam along with local leaders, administrative officials and members of the public. Teachers’ timely intervention helped prevent the situation from escalating further.
