Faridkot: Four Smugglers Arrested With 4 Kg Heroin, Caught Supplying Drugs in Brezza Car

Fraidkot, Punjab: The CIA staff of the Faridkot district police seized 4 kg 29 grams of heroin and arrested four accused in a Brezza car. The accused have been identified as Sandeep Singh alias Seepa, a resident of Harike Kalan village in Muktsar district, Manveer Singh alias Honey, a resident of Khara village in Faridkot district, Pravesh, a resident of Aman Nagar in Kotkapura, and Vasu Birla, a resident of Nanak Nagari.

Police have registered a case against the accused under the NDPS Act at Kotkapura Sadar Police Station and have initiated further investigation. According to police, a police party led by Hakam Singh, in-charge of the CIA Staff Faridkot, was conducting patrols and checking as part of the anti-drug campaign, under the direction of SSP Gurbans Singh Bains.

When the team arrived late in the evening near the ruined building of a closed petrol pump in Khara village on the Kotkapura-Muktsar road, they spotted a Brezza car parked there, and four young men were loitering suspiciously near it. Seeing the police team approaching, the four young men quickly got into the Brezza, started the car, and attempted to flee.

The vehicle was searched on suspicion

The police immediately took action and stopped the vehicle. A search of the vehicle based on suspicion yielded 4 kg 29 grams of heroin. The police arrested all four accused and registered a case against them at Kotkapura Sadar Police Station. They are being interrogated.

Punjab Assembly Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan praised the district police’s action, stating that the police are continuing to crack down on drug traffickers throughout Punjab, including Faridkot. He added that the government and police are continuously striving to make Punjab drug-free. During the recent past, the Faridkot police have succeeded in disrupting the drug supply chain by arresting major drug traffickers.
