    Faridkot Police Arrest 4, Recover 47.3 Kg Heroin and Weapons

    Faridkot: In a major crackdown on cross-border drug smuggling, Faridkot Police have arrested four alleged operatives linked to a heroin smuggling network and recovered 47.3 kg of heroin, along with illegal weapons and two vehicles.

    According to Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav, the police operation also led to the seizure of three pistols, three magazines and 15 cartridges.

    Cross-Border Smuggling Network Busted

    The preliminary investigation has revealed that the arrested accused are allegedly connected to a network involved in the cross-border smuggling of heroin and illegal arms into Punjab, the DGP said.

    The police are now investigating the wider network to identify other people involved in the alleged smuggling operation.

    FIR Registered in Faridkot

    An FIR has been registered at Police Station Sadiq in Faridkot in connection with the recovery and arrests.

    The investigation is underway to establish the forward and backward linkages of the network and uncover its wider connections.

    Punjab Police Steps Up Crackdown

    Punjab Police said it continues to maintain strict vigil against cross-border smuggling and is taking action against drug trafficking and organised criminal networks.
