Punjab and other state Farmers Meet with Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi in Parliament

New Delhi: Farmers from Punjab and other states met with opposition leader Rahul Gandhi in Parliament premises. Farmer leaders handed over their memorandum of demands to Rahul Gandhi. Farmers also discussed MSP and other farming issues with Rahul Gandhi. They are demanding a private member bill in the current session of Parliament. Farmer leaders informed.

Farmer leaders informed Rahul Gandhi about their demands today. After the meeting, farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal said that Rahul Gandhi has said that he will raise the voice of farmers in Parliament. MSP issues will also be raised in Parliament. He also said that we hope the opposition leaders will raise our demand. MPs of Punjab and Haryana were also present in this meeting. Farmer organizations have been agitating for several months on many issues including MSP.

Farmers Meeting With LoP Rahul Gandhi

The farmers of Punjab marched towards Delhi demanding MSP and other demands. But the Haryana government closed the road by placing nails on the highway on the Punjab-Haryana border and placing heavy concrete slabs. When the farmers tried to remove the barricades put up by the Haryana government, on the order of the government police force open tear gas shells as well as open plastic bullet fire with pellet guns at the farmers. In which a farmer named Shubhkaran died.
After this, the farmers staged a permanent sit-in at the Shambhu border. The railway route was also blocked by staging a sit-in at Shambhu railway station for several days. The farmers said that they wanted to go to Delhi peacefully but the Haryana government has deliberately stopped them.
