The ongoing farmers’ protest at Shambhu railway track in Punjab has lead to the derailment of train services in the region. As a result, trains have been diverted via Chandigarh, which has caused significant delays, with some trains being delayed by several hours. Commuters have been left stranded at the stations, having to wait for long hours for their delayed trains, causing them inconvenience.
About 184 trains will be affected on Thursday due to farmers’ protest at the Punjab-Haryana border, including many super-fast trains. This may cause inconvenience to people at railway stations across Punjab. major trains like Shaan e Punjab, Shatabdi Express and Garib Rath also ran late for about 23 hours.
Railway Cancel And Divert routes
The railway administration has cancelled a significant number of trains due to the ongoing farmers’ strike in Shambhu. In addition, many trains have had their routes diverted. Railway officials have confirmed that 69 trains have been cancelled and 115 trains have had their routes changed.
Most of the express trains from Delhi are continuously delayed, causing passengers to worry at the stations. Famers are also stage dharna on highway.
