Fatehabad Accident: Vehicle carrying players overturned, 16 players injured

On Saturday afternoon, a vehicle carrying athletes overturned near the village of Khabra Kalan. A flat tire caused the vehicle to lose control and overturn into a field. The athletes were traveling from village Chuli Bagdiyan in Hisar district to village Haripura to play football.

The players were also aboard. Villagers immediately rushed to the scene, rescued the athletes, and took them to Bhattu CHC. Four players were referred to Fatehabad, while the rest were discharged after first aid. One player suffered a fracture.

The athletes train at the football academy in village Chuli Bagdiyan in the Adampur area. They were to participate in a tournament being held in village Haripura. All the players were transported in a Tata Magic vehicle. As the vehicle approached Khabra Kalan, a flat tire suddenly punctured the vehicle, causing the driver to lose control and the vehicle overturned into a field on the side of the road.

Seeing the accident, nearby residents immediately began rescue operations, pulling all the athletes out of the vehicle one by one. Police and ambulance helplines were then called. According to the hospital report, players Vijay, Billu, Sunil, Dinesh, and Kshitij have been referred to Fatehabad. Additionally, Pankaj, Aman, Vikas, Himanshu, Gyanendra, Mukesh, Rohtas, Kuldeep, and Anuj were given first aid. Upon receiving information about the incident, the players’ parents also arrived at the hospital.
