Siblings Killed in Pickup Collision in Fatehabad; Driver Absconding After Accident

Near the village of Mirana in the Ratia area of Fatehabad district, two brothers riding a bike died after a pickup truck hit them. Both brothers were returning to the village of Platta after finishing work in Ratia tehsil. During this, the truck driver hit them. The deceased have been identified as Karam Singh (58) and Ranjit Singh, residents of village Platta. Both brothers were involved in farming.

According to information, the brothers had gone to the patwari in Ratia tehsil for some work. After finishing their work, they were riding their bike back to village Platta. Near Mirana village, the driver of an oncoming pickup truck hit their bike. After the impact, both brothers fell onto the road along with the bike.

After hitting them, the driver left the pickup at the spot and fled.

People got them to the hospital

Nearby people heard the noise and ran towards them and immediately took the two brothers to Ratia Civil Hospital. But there, after checking, the doctor declared both of them dead. On getting the news, relatives and police personnel reached the spot. Sadar Station in-charge Prahlad Rai also inspected the site.

The SHO said that the police have currently taken the pickup into custody and have started searching for the accused driver. The accused is being traced based on the pickup’s numbers.

Both brothers have four children, all living in Australia

According to information, Karam Singh and Ranjit were the youngest among four brothers. Their parents have passed away. The family owns 18 acres of land. The deceased brothers each have one son and one daughter. All four children are studying while living in Australia.
