Amethi: Father-Son riding motor cycle struck by bus, killed on spot

In Amethi, Uttar Pradesh, a father and son riding a motorcycle were killed on Thursday after being struck by a bus. Upon receiving the news, the family home was filled with cries of grief and anguish. Police arrived at the scene following the report and gathered details regarding the incident. Further action is currently underway.

The accident occurred in Peeparpur, along the Prayagraj-Ayodhya Highway. Ramzan Ali (60) and his son, Rehan Ali (40)—originally residents of Chanderia village in Sangrampur—were traveling to Sultanpur on a motorcycle. Near Durgapur Market, a speeding bus collided with their bike.

Following the accident, the accused driver fled the scene in the vehicle. Bystanders who witnessed the incident immediately rushed the injured victims to the Community Health Center in Bhadar. After administering first aid there, doctors—observing their critical condition—referred them to the District Hospital in Sultanpur.

Upon their arrival at the District Hospital, doctors examined the victims and pronounced both of them dead. It was reported that Ramzan Ali’s daughter’s wedding is scheduled to take place on April 20th; the father and son had set out specifically to do some wedding shopping.

Inspector Shriram Pandey stated that the family members have been informed of the incident. The bodies have been sent for a post-mortem examination. An FIR will be registered, and further legal action will be initiated once a formal written complaint is received. The police are currently searching for both the bus and its driver.
