Ferozepur Govt Employees Renew Demand for Old Pension Scheme

Ferozepur: The long-standing demand for the restoration of the Old Pension Scheme (OPS) gained momentum on Tuesday as government employees in Ferozepur staged a strong protest against the Central Government. Workers from multiple departments said the New Pension Scheme (NPS) has left their retirement future insecure and urged the government to reinstate OPS without delay.

Employees Slam NPS, Alleged False Cases

Protesters criticised the market-linked NPS for offering no guaranteed pension after decades of public service. They also condemned Delhi Police for allegedly filing false cases against employees who participated in the November 25 rally, calling it an attempt to suppress their voice.

Appeal to Centre & Punjab Govt

The employees urged both the Central and Punjab Governments to immediately address their concerns and restore the OPS. They warned that the agitation will intensify if the government continues to ignore the demand.
