Ferozepur Police-BSF foils cross border smuggling attempt, 6.5 Kg heroin recovered

In a major breakthrough, Counter Intelligence Ferozepur, in close coordination with BSF, foils a major cross-border smuggling attempt. AS per the police, it took place near BOP GG-2, Village Mahtam Nagar, PS Sadar Fazilka. Police have recovered a total of 6.5 kg of heroin.

The information has been shared by Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav through a post on X.

Preliminary investigation reveals that Pakistan-based smugglers crossed the zero-line and operated close to the border fence, attempting to exploit darkness to push narcotics into Indian territory.

Acting on specific inputs by Counter Intelligence, alert BSF troops fired several rounds to thwart the intrusion, followed by a meticulous joint search operation that led to the recovery.

DGP Yadav assured that the Punjab Police remains steadfast in maintaining strict vigil along the border and enforcing zero tolerance against cross-border smuggling and narco-crime.
