Ferozepur Police crack attempt to murder case, five out of six accused arrest

Acting swiftly, the police claim to have cracked the mystery behind the attack on a property dealer at the outskirts of the city within three days and arrested five out of the six accused involved in the case.

SSP Bhupinder Singh said that the victim Ranjeet Singh of Peer Ahmed Khan village had a business partnership with Akashdeep Singh alias Akash (26) of the city area, and both had jointly purchased three acres of land near Basti Nizamdeen to develop a colony.

Out of the total land, two acres belonged to Ranjeet, while one acre belonged to Akashdeep. Akashdeep was supposed to pay Rs. 1.45 crore for his lesser share but had paid only Rs. 20 lakh and was reluctant to pay the remaining amount,” said the SSP.

The SSP said that Akash, along with accused Sukhchain Singh, hatched a conspiracy to kill Ranjeet so that the balance amount would not have to be paid. “Four other persons were also involved in the conspiracy, and Akashdeep had promised to give five marla land to each of them for helping in the attack,” said the SSP.
