‘Final Chance’: Delhi House Panel Sets March 6 Deadline for Kejriwal on ‘Faansi Ghar’ Issue

NEW DELHI: The Delhi Assembly’s Committee of Privileges has given former CM and AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal and other party leaders a “final chance” to appear in person and submit statements regarding the ‘Faansi Ghar’ issue on March 6.

Requests for Extension Considered
Kejriwal had requested a hearing in the first week of March. Former Deputy CM Manish Sisodia, ex-Speaker Ram Niwas Goel, and ex-Deputy Speaker Rakhi Birla also sought extensions, proposing dates between March 2 and 6. The Committee fixed March 6 as the final date to avoid further delays.

Background of the Issue
The matter, raised by Delhi Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta, concerns the authenticity of the ‘Faansi Ghar’ inaugurated on August 9, 2022, within the Delhi Legislative Assembly premises. The Committee was directed to conduct a factual and procedural investigation.
