Final voter list released in UP, 8.4 million new voters added

New Delhi: The final voter list was released on Friday after the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) 2026 process in Uttar Pradesh. According to this, the total number of voters in the state has been fixed at 133,984,792 (approximately 133.9 million).

This list released by the Election Commission is considered important ahead of next year’s assembly elections.

Entire process was transparent: CEO

State Chief Electoral Officer Navdeep Rinwa told a press conference that the entire process was completed in a transparent manner.

According to the final list, 8428,767 new voters have been added after the SIR process, including 4227902 male and 4200778 female voters.

Total voters 13.39 crore, more men

This increase is compared to the data from January 6, 2026, and April 10, 2026 (till the completion of the SIR process).

Of the total 13.39 crore voters in the state, 7,30,71,061 are men (54.54 percent) and 6,09,09,525 are women (45.46 percent). This also includes 4,206 third gender voters and 17,63,360 young voters in the 18-19 age group.

Increase of 84 lakh compared to January

The number of voters in the draft list released on January 6, 2026, was 12.55 crore.

According to the Election Commission, there has been a net increase of 84,28,767 voters, which includes 42,27,902 men, 42,00,778 women, 14,29,379 new voters, and 87 third gender voters.

Highest increase in some districts, millions of names removed

The highest increase in the number of voters was recorded in Prayagraj, Lucknow, Jaunpur, and Ghaziabad districts.

During verification between January 6 and April 10, 8,15,996 voters’ names were removed from the list.

It is noteworthy that in October 2025, there were a total of 15.44 crore voters in the state, which has now reduced to 13.39 crore.
