Fire breaks out in house in Ludhiana’s Shimlapuri; Three vehicles, 29 LEDs gutted

A massive fire broke out in a house in Ludhiana’s Ichchha Nagar late Wednesday night, causing widespread panic. The incident occurred around 11:30 p.m. The blaze was so intense that everything parked inside the house, including two Activas, a car, and an auto-rickshaw containing 29 LED televisions, was reduced to ashes. While it’s a relief that no one was killed in the accident, the house itself, along with valuables worth lakhs, was reduced to ashes.

Harvinder Singh, a resident of the area, stated that the fire broke out in his neighbor’s house. His neighbor works as a delivery van driver. Initial investigations revealed that a fault in the AC compressor caused the fire, which gradually spread throughout the house.

Villagers initially tried to extinguish the fire by pouring water from the tank, but the flames intensified. The fire brigade was then informed.

Fireman Vijay Kumar stated that he received the call at 11:38 a.m. He immediately arrived at the scene with a vehicle and brought the fire under control after about 30 minutes of effort. He said there were no casualties, but vehicles and household items were completely destroyed.

Residents say that if the fire brigade had arrived a little later, the fire could have spread to nearby homes.
