Fire breaks out in Jalandhar warehouse due to short circuit; four fire tenders bring blaze under control

A fire broke out in a warehouse located within a bungalow in the JP Nagar area of ​​Jalandhar due to a short circuit. Risking their lives, firefighters and locals attempted to retrieve valuable items stored in the bungalow and the warehouse. More than four fire tenders arrived at the scene and brought the blaze under control after a strenuous effort.

The property suffered extensive damage. According to locals and administrative sources, a warehouse had been set up in a section of the bungalow, housing a large quantity of goods. It is reported that a short circuit in the electrical wiring late Thursday night caused the stored goods to catch fire; the flames intensified rapidly within minutes.

Delay in Power Cut Escalated the Danger

People present at the scene alleged that the electricity department failed to cut off the power supply promptly during the initial stages of the incident. Locals stated that the continued power supply led to repeated short circuits inside the warehouse, causing the fire to flare up further. Eventually, the power supply to the entire neighborhood was shut off, which helped firefighters accelerate their relief and rescue operations.

Fire department teams reached the site immediately upon receiving the information. Initially, four fire tenders were deployed to extinguish the blaze, using continuous water jets to bring it under control.
