    Five people arrests for reckless driving , explodes colour bombs on Delhi roads

    New Delhi : Delhi Police have arrested five men for reckless conduct after they burst color bombs and drove on the Vikaspur flyover, even as Section 144 remains in force amid farmers’ protest in the national capital. Officials said these five men were part of a group in about 20-25 cars who created havoc on Delhi’s roads recently.

    Subeer Singh (42), Naam Singh (41), Gurmeet Singh (29), Harmeet Singh (32) and Manmeet Singh (36), all residents of Tilak Nagar, have been identified as accused. Police said they also impounded five vehicles. Deputy Inspector of Police West Vichitra Veer said that “some miscreants created ruckus in around 20-25 cars on the Vikaspur flyover towards Peeragarh by exploding colour bombs and zigzagging, especially when Section 144 of CrPC was in force in Delhi, local police and traffic police decided to take strict action against such activities.”

    “A case under Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections 279 (sudden driving) and 188 (disobeying orders duly issued by officers) was immediately registered and investigation started,” the DCP said. During the investigation, the police team was given a specific task to identify the persons in the videos recorded. “Based on traffic and CCTV footage, the team identified and nabbed five persons. Five persons from Tilak Nagar.” the DCP added.
