Flood-like conditions in the Sutlej River, threat looms at Dhussi bandh

Due to heavy rains in Punjab for the last 2 days, the water level in the Sutlej River has increased dramatically. According to information, earlier 50 to 70 thousand cusecs of water was flowing in the Sutlej river, which has now reached 1.25 lakh cusecs due to heavy rains, and if the water level increases further, the Dhussi bandh will be in danger of breaking. When the Dhussi bandh of the Sutlej river flowing near Machhiwara Sahib was inspected, the bag dam that was earlier installed to erode the land here was washed away due to the increase in water level.

Paramjit Singh Dhillon, the chief servant of the Shiromani Akali Dal, reached the Dhussi bandh of the Sutlej river from Samrala constituency. While talking to the villagers, he said that Shiromani Akali Dal President Sukhbir Singh Badal has directed that all possible help should be provided to the people affected by the flood-like situation. He said that the situation is under control at present and prays to God that no untoward incident occurs.

Paramjit Dhillon said that when faced with difficulties, the people of Punjab reach out to every nation and community in their difficulties by reaching out to countries abroad, but now the people of Punjab are struggling with floods, and no state of the country has taken care of the Punjabis, which is very unfortunate.

He said that the people of Punjab are blessed by the Almighty that they are able to deal with every situation by standing shoulder to shoulder with each other in every difficult moment.
