Damaged Hydro Power Project

Deputy Commissioner Shimla Anupam Kashyap said roads have been washed away and a hydroelectric project in the area has also been damaged.

The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police, police and home guards have started rescue operations. Kashyap said drones are also being used to search for the missing people.

Road Damaged Near River

3 houses were hit by a landslide in Chauharghati of Mandi district. 11 people of 3 families went missing in Chauhar Valley. 2 bodies have been recovered, while 8 are still missing. One person has suffered serious injuries. He has been admitted to the hospital. Here the fire brigade and SDRF team are engaged in rescue.

Mandi DC Apoorva Devgan has ordered to close all government, private schools, Anganwadi centers, vocational training centers in Karsog and Padhar sub-divisions.

River Flowing Over Danger Mark

Malana-1 and Malana-2  Hydro Power project (40 Megawatt), situated near Malana village in Kullu district, has been seriously damaged as its dam burst and power house damaged.  The dam is overflowing, which has also damaged many houses. Parvati river is also flowing above the danger mark.

CM Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has convened an emergency meeting at HP Secretariat Shimla to take stock of the situation on Thursday morning.

Himachal Government have been appealed to the people living on the banks of the river to go to safer places. More than 150 roads have been closed after heavy rains across the state. BBMB Pandoh Dam Flood Gate have been opened.
