Heavy rains have caused devastation in many areas of Himachal Pradesh last night. Clouds have burst in Kullu, Mandi and Shimla’s Rampur, in which 2 people have died while 51 people are missing.
More than 36 people went missing after a cloudburst in villa Samej (Jhakhari) area of Rampur subdivision in Himachal Pradesh’s Shimla district. Flood in Samej Khand And many houses of Samej village were washed away.A school, a guest house and a power house of a power project have also been washed away here.
Deputy Commissioner Shimla Anupam Kashyap said roads have been washed away and a hydroelectric project in the area has also been damaged.

The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police, police and home guards have started rescue operations. Kashyap said drones are also being used to search for the missing people.
3 houses were hit by a landslide in Chauharghati of Mandi district. 11 people of 3 families went missing in Chauhar Valley. 2 bodies have been recovered, while 8 are still missing. CM Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has convened an emergency meeting at HP Secretariat Shimla to take stock of the situation on Thursday morning.
Himachal Government have been appealed to the people living on the banks of the river to go to safer places. More than 150 roads have been closed after heavy rains across the state. BBMB Pandoh Dam Flood Gate have been opened.
