Monsoon rains have started showing their fierce form. Due to heavy rains, flood situation has arisen in many states of the country. Rivers are flowing at danger level. In Uttarakhand, the wooden bridge built on the Chirbasa stream on the Gangotri-Gomukh track broke.
Two Kanwariyas from Delhi named Suraj and Monu were swept away in this stream on Thursday. Forest department officials said that this incident happened about nine kilometers away from Gangotri. The water level of the river suddenly increased.
Uttarkashi District Magistrate Meharban Singh Bisht has directed the Deputy Director of Gangotri National Park to find the Kanwariyas and build a new bridge on Chirbasa.
8 people died in assam flood
Heavy rain causes the flood like situation in Assam. 8 people drowned in flood in Assam died on Thursday. 21.13 lakh people of 29 districts are affected by the floods, death toll has increased to 56 so far. total of 31 animals have died due to drowning in the flood in Kaziranga National Park, while 82 animals have been rescued from the floods.

IMD has issued very heavy rain alert for Thursday in 17 states- Jammu and Kashmir, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Sikkim, North West Bengal, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Assam, Nagaland, Tripura, Mizoram, Maharashtra, Goa. Heavy rain alert has been issued in 11 states- Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Jharkhand, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Karnataka, Kerala.
