Amritsar: The Food Safety Team under the leadership of The Food Safety Team under the leadership of Assistant Commissioner of Food and Safety Rajinderpal Singh started a campaign to curb adulteration in milk products. Following the directions of Deputy Commissioner Amritsar Ghanshyam Thori and the orders of Civil Surgeon Amritsar Dr. Kirandeep Kaur, Assistant Food Commissioner Rajinderpal Singh conducted surprise checking at famous dairies including Ram Tirth Road and Cheharta Road in the presence of Food Safety Officer Kamaldeep Kaur.
Rajinderpal Singh said that there were many complaints about adulteration of milk and milk products in dairies. Under which a total of 15 samples of milk and milk products were collected from these dairies. Four of these samples were of milk and 11 samples were of milk products. Rajinderpal Singh said that all these samples have been sent to State Food Laboratory Kharar for testing. Appropriate departmental action will be taken against the culprits after the report comes.
He has appealed to all dairies and food shopkeepers that adulteration of any kind will not be tolerated. He also said that in the coming time, surprise checking will be included in the daily routine. Surprise checking was done in shops named Pannu Dairy, Vinod Dairy, Azad Dairy, Gill Dairy, Guru Amardas Dairy and Raju Sweet Shop.
