Three Suspects Nabbed in Joint Punjab Operation; Arms Cache Recovered

In a major breakthrough against organized crime and gangster networks in Punjab, SSOC Amritsar and Counterintelligence Jalandhar have busted the gang in collaboration with a central agency. The gang was operating at the behest of handlers sitting abroad. In this operation, 3 accused have been arrested, and 3 foreign-made sophisticated pistols and cartridges have been recovered from them.

Gangster connections linked to abroad revealed

The police have registered an FIR in this case at SSOC police station, Amritsar. Preliminary investigations have revealed that the arrested accused were working on the instructions of gangsters based abroad, who are involved in carrying out gang wars, extortion and other criminal activities in Punjab. These accused were working to transport the consignment of weapons from one place to another and to carry out various criminal acts.

Links to old murder cases also found

Investigations have also revealed that the arrested accused are linked to a murder case registered in Amritsar Commissionerate and another case of attempt to murder registered in Batala. This makes it clear that this network was not limited to arms trafficking but has also been involved in serious violent crimes.

The police are now probing this entire network in depth to identify associates, local contacts and foreign handlers. Also, the criminal activities carried out by this gang in the past are also being ascertained.
