Former Akali Dal Leader Ravi Mohan Joins AAP, CM Bhagwant Mann Welcomes Him

Jalandhar: Ravi Mohan, former constituency in-charge of the Shiromani Akali Dal, has joined the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). He took the party membership in Jalandhar in the presence of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann. Senior AAP leader Jagroop Singh Sekhwan and some of Ravi Mohan’s associates were also present.

After joining the party, Ravi Mohan stated that Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has asked him to actively work to strengthen the party in the Dinanagar assembly constituency. He has also been instructed to begin preparations for the 2027 assembly elections.

Ravi Mohan’s entry into the AAP has sparked speculation about the formation of new political dynamics in Dinanagar ahead of the 2027 assembly elections. However, no official information has yet been released regarding the organizational responsibilities he will be given by the party.

He was considered one of Majithia’s close associates

Ravi Mohan has been considered a close associate of Akali leader Bikram Singh Majithia. He was the former constituency in-charge of the Bhoa assembly constituency. He has also served as a Zila Parishad member and joint secretary of the SC wing of the Shiromani Akali Dal.

Eyes on new responsibilities after joining AAP

Following Ravi Mohan’s joining the Aam Aadmi Party, all eyes are on what kind of responsibility the party will assign him in the Dinanagar area. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has instructed him to strengthen the organization in the area and prepare for the upcoming assembly elections.

His entry is being seen as a new political development in Dinanagar politics ahead of the 2027 elections.
