Former CDS hints: Pakistan informed the US about the Operation Sindoor ceasefire

Former Chief of Defense Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan stated that the ceasefire during Operation Sindoor was reached through direct negotiations between India and Pakistan. The Director Generals of Defense (DGMOs) of both countries held discussions.

General Chauhan questioned how the US obtained information about the ceasefire before it was officially announced. He hinted that Pakistan may have shared this information with the US.

US President Donald Trump has repeatedly claimed that the US played a role in brokering the ceasefire between India and Pakistan. However, India has consistently maintained that the ceasefire was reached through direct negotiations between the two countries.

Pakistan had asked for a ceasefire

According to General Chauhan, Pakistan had requested a ceasefire from India on May 10, 2025. At that time, Indian military operations under Operation Sindoor were underway.
