Ludhiana: Speeding Fortuner Crashes Into Selfie Point at Bharat Nagar Chowk

Ludhiana: Bharat Nagar Chowk, one of the busiest intersections in Ludhiana, turned chaotic around 12:30 a.m. on Sunday night when a speeding SUV lost control and crashed into the “I Love Ludhiana” selfie point structure in the middle of the square.

SUV Slams Into Selfie Point Structure

According to eyewitnesses, a black Toyota Fortuner was speeding from Mall Road when the driver lost control near the intersection.

The vehicle rammed into the security boundary surrounding the selfie point and tore through a 3-foot-high pillar due to the impact.

Witnesses said the SUV appeared to lift slightly off the ground before smashing into the structure at the centre of the junction.

Two Young Men Injured in Crash

Two young men were inside the vehicle at the time of the accident. The force of the crash trapped them inside the damaged car.

Local residents and passersby rushed to the scene and worked together to pull the injured occupants out of the vehicle.

A large crowd gathered soon after the crash, and police were informed immediately while rescue efforts were underway.

Victims Taken to Hospital, Discharged After First Aid

The injured men were taken to a nearby private hospital for treatment.

Doctors said both suffered minor injuries and were discharged after receiving first aid.

Police Launch Investigation

Police teams arrived at the scene shortly after receiving the alert and secured the area. The damaged Fortuner has been taken into custody.

Officials said investigators are examining whether the accident occurred due to overspeeding or if the driver was under the influence of alcohol.
