Jalandhar: The police team from Jalandhar Police Station Division No. 1 has solved the mystery surrounding a brutal attack that took place on the night of March 26 and has arrested four accused in connection with the case.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Sahil alias Sandhu from New Raj Nagar, Jerry Ghonsala from Raj Nagar, Mohit Kumar alias Chutki from Gopal Nagar, and Rohit alias Memna from Gandhi Camp. All four have been booked for attempt to murder along with serious charges under the Arms Act.

Attack Near Canal Track

The incident occurred around 9 p.m. on March 26, 2026, when the complainant, Neeraj alias Kali, a resident of Arya Nagar, was travelling with his friends Deepak and Akshay. As they reached a tile warehouse near the canal track, the accused—who were allegedly lying in wait—launched a sudden and violent attack on them.

Victims Assaulted with Sharp Weapons

According to police, the accused used sharp-edged weapons to assault Neeraj and his friends, leaving them seriously injured. During the attack, Sahil alias Sandhu reportedly fired a pistol into the air to create panic in the area. Taking advantage of the chaos and gathering crowd, the accused managed to flee the spot.

Arrests Based on Technical Evidence

Taking the matter seriously, the police formed a special investigation team led by Inspector Surinder Kumar and Sub Inspector Rakesh Kumar. Acting on technical evidence and confidential inputs, the team conducted a raid on March 30, 2026, and successfully apprehended all four accused.

A case has been registered under FIR No. 95, invoking relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (BNS) and Sections 25, 54, and 59 of the Arms Act. The accused have been produced before the court, and police are seeking their remand. During the remand period, efforts will be made to recover the weapons and the motorcycle used in the crime.
