The Commissioner has dismissed four employees of the Gurugram Municipal Corporation with immediate effect after allegations of negligence and fraud were substantiated. This action was taken based on a departmental inquiry, personal hearings, and available evidence.
According to orders issued by Municipal Commissioner Pradeep Dahiya, serious charges—including violation of service rules, negligence in duty, obstruction of official work, fabrication of records, and misuse of office—were proven against the concerned employees, leading to the termination of their services with immediate effect.
Two Property Tax Computer Operators Removed
According to officials, a departmental inquiry revealed that computer operators Neeraj Vashishth and Ankur Arora were raising unnecessary and unwarranted objections regarding Property IDs and property tax matters, deviating from the prescribed Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
This caused avoidable delays in processing genuine applications and inconvenienced citizens. Following the inquiry report, show-cause notices, and personal hearings, officials found the employees’ explanations unsatisfactory. Consequently, orders were issued to terminate their services with immediate effect.
False Resolution of Complaints Using AI-Edited Photos
An inquiry against Wasim, an Assistant Sanitation Inspector appointed under HKRNL, revealed that he had uploaded AI-edited photos to the grievance portal to falsely claim the resolution of public complaints.
This resulted in complaints being marked as closed without any actual resolution. During the personal hearing, the employee failed to provide a satisfactory explanation for his actions. Deeming this an act of gross misconduct, fraud, and tampering with official records, his services were terminated with immediate effect.
