Four Killed, Eight Injured in Head-On Collision Between Roadways Bus and Car on NH-58 in Nagaur

A horrific road accident occurred on the Ajmer-Bikaner National Highway 58 near Chakdhani village in Nagaur district of Rajasthan on Sunday morning. Four people lost their lives and eight others sustained serious injuries after a head-on collision between a roadways bus and an Eco car.

The impact of the collision was so severe that the bus veered off the road and crashed into a nearby farm fence.

According to reports, the accident took place around 8 a.m. when eight people from Ravalaniya village in the Madaliya area of Jodhpur were travelling to Butati in Merta for darshan of Saint Chaturdas Maharaj.

At the same time, a Rajasthan Roadways bus travelling from Nagaur to Merta collided head-on with the Eco car near Chakdhani village, around 10 kilometres from Butati.

Three Died on the Spot, One Succumbed During Treatment

Three occupants of the car died on the spot, while another person succumbed to injuries while being taken to hospital.

Police teams rushed to the spot and shifted the injured passengers to the Ren Community Health Centre for first aid. Three critically injured persons were later referred to Merta for advanced treatment.

Upon receiving information about the incident, Kuchera Police Station Officer Habib Khan reached the Ren CHC to supervise rescue and investigation efforts.

Women and Children Among the Injured

The injured were identified as Pradeep, son of Birju, Birju, son of Ramuram, Jashoda, wife of Amrish Puri, and Santosh, wife of Pusapuri. Two children — eight-month-old Vikas and three-year-old Mansi — also sustained injuries in the accident.

After receiving primary treatment at the Ren Community Health Centre, Jashoda and Santosh were referred to the Merta Sub-District Hospital due to the seriousness of their condition.

Police said the deceased included two women and two men.

Police Begin Investigation Into Accident

Kuchera police officials said the collision occurred near Chakdhani village on the eastern side of Kuchera.

“A roadways bus and an Eco car collided near Chakdhani. Three people died on the spot and several others were injured. The injured are undergoing treatment at hospitals in Ren, Merta City and Kuchera. Police are investigating the matter,” Habib Khan said.

Officials added that around 15 passengers were travelling in the bus at the time of the accident, and all of them remained safe.
