Leaders of the Gujarat unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) have welcomed the Centre’s decision to reduce fuel excise duty by ₹10 per litre, calling it a major relief for citizens amid rising global oil prices.

Senior BJP leaders in the state praised the move, stating that it reflects the government’s commitment to protecting the common man from the burden of international fuel price volatility.

The Centre recently announced a sharp cut in excise duty on petrol and diesel. The duty on petrol was reduced from ₹13 per litre to ₹3, while the levy on diesel was completely removed from ₹10 to zero.
