Gangster Threatens AAP MLA Giaspura in Ludhiana, Seeks Enhanced Security

Ludhiana: Manwinder Singh Giaspura, Aam Aadmi Party MLA from Ludhiana’s Payal assembly constituency, has received death threats from gangster Donny Bal via a call from a foreign number. This was followed by firing at a shop owned by one of his close associates in Payal.

Two or three days ago, the gangster’s henchmen surrounded a member of the MLA’s media team near Rano Bridge and threatened him, saying that he was associated with the MLA and should “settle his score.”

Following the continued threats, MLA Gyaspura wrote to Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav, demanding security for himself and his associates.

In the letter, he stated that around April 10, 2026, Nona, a commission agent in the Payal area, received a threatening call from a foreign country named Doni Bal. Subsequently, on April 15, his shop was fired upon, although no injuries were reported.

Following this, Avinashpreet Singh Jalla, president of the commission agent association, held a press conference to protest, but later that evening, he also received a threat from a foreign number. According to the MLA, he also received a call from an international number, which he personally received and spoke with for about 15 minutes, appealing for peace in Punjab.

The MLA stated that the gangster is continuously threatening Jalla through calls and messages, saying, “MLA Gyaspura will be killed, and you will not be spared either.”

By April 25th, the police arrested the accused involved in the shooting incident, but threats in the name of Doni Bal and Shagunpreet continue.

On April 30th, Dilshad, a member of the MLA’s media team, was stopped and threatened by three youths on a bike without a number plate near Rano Bridge, although he escaped unharmed.

The MLA has made four key demands in his letter: a high-level investigation into the matter, strict action against the culprits, increased security for himself and his associates, and a thorough investigation into the sources of the international threats and the arrest of the accused.
