Gas Crisis in Himachal: Villagers Block Traffic at Nohli Bridge in Hamirpur

A major uproar has ensued in Himachal Pradesh due to a severe shortage of LPG cylinders. On Wednesday, residents of the Sujanpur subdivision in Hamirpur district staged a road blockade at the Nohli Bridge after failing to procure domestic gas cylinders.

The villagers alleged that they were being denied gas cylinders. Police personnel managed to clear the blockade after half an hour of strenuous effort.

In the Kullu district, long queues of people are forming to obtain cooking gas. For many, it takes until the following day for their turn to arrive. The situation is particularly dire in the tourist town of Manali, where people can be seen standing in lines outside gas agencies.

Residents state that they are compelled to stand in queues just to procure cooking gas, resulting in them spending their entire days solely on the task of obtaining a cylinder.
