Gautam Seth meets Pb Governor Kataria, demands constitutional accountability of state govt

Congress National Spokesperson Gautam Seth met Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria. During his meeting, he pressed concerns related to the state’s current situation.

In a statement issued after the meeting, Gautam Seth expressed concern over the state’s rising financial burden, claiming that Punjab is facing a projected debt of ₹4.17 lakh crore. He further alleged that nearly ₹25,000 crore is being spent annually on interest payments, putting significant strain on the state’s finances.

Raising law and order concerns, he claimed that an alleged “extortion industry” is emerging in the state and that the drug menace continues to tighten its grip. He accused the government of failing to effectively address these challenges.

Taking a swipe at Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and the ruling Aam Aadmi Party, he said the promises of change and reform have not translated into tangible results. “Punjab is not a stage; it is a responsibility,” he remarked, alleging that the current administration has focused more on publicity than performance.
