Transformer Fire Breaks Out in Ghaziabad’s Khoda, Blaze Brought Under Control

Ghaziabad: A transformer caught fire in Adarsh Nagar Colony of Khoda in Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad district, near the Delhi border, in the early hours of Tuesday, prompting a swift response from the fire department.

The blaze rapidly spread through nearby electric cables, with flames visible from nearly two kilometres away. Firefighters and police personnel rushed to the spot and eventually brought the fire under control.

Fire Spreads Through Cables, Multiple Fire Tenders Deployed

After receiving information about the incident, the fire department initially dispatched two fire tenders to the location. As the fire intensified and concerns grew over diesel drums stored nearby catching fire, additional fire tenders and a Fire Quick Response Vehicle (FQRV) suitable for narrow lanes were pressed into service.

Fire Officer Rahul Pal said, “We received information about a fire in a transformer in Shiv Mandir Wali Gali, Adarsh Nagar, Khoda Gaon. Two fire tenders were immediately dispatched to the spot. We also received information that some diesel drums kept nearby had caught fire, raising the possibility of the flames spreading to nearby houses.”

The coordinated efforts of firefighters and police personnel prevented the flames from spreading to nearby residential buildings.

No Casualties Reported

Authorities confirmed that the fire was successfully brought under control. No injuries or casualties were reported in the incident. The exact cause of the transformer fire is yet to be determined.

Recent High-Rise Fire in Noida

The Ghaziabad incident comes a day after a major fire broke out in a flat on the 22nd floor of Aranya Society in Sector 119, Noida. Preliminary reports suggested the blaze was triggered by an air conditioner explosion.

Six fire tenders were deployed to control the Noida fire, and officials later confirmed that no casualties were reported. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also directed senior officials to monitor the situation and ensure prompt relief and rescue operations.
