Two Murder Accused Injured in Police Encounter in UP’s Ghazipur

Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh: Two men accused in a murder case were injured during a police encounter in Uttar Pradesh’s Ghazipur district, officials said on Sunday. The encounter took place when police teams attempted to intercept the accused during a search operation.

According to police, the accused allegedly opened fire while trying to escape, prompting retaliatory action from the police team. Both suspects sustained bullet injuries during the exchange of fire and were later taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Weapons and Ammunition Recovered

Police officials said illegal weapons and live cartridges were recovered from the possession of the accused after the encounter. The seized items include country-made pistols and ammunition allegedly used in criminal activities.

Authorities stated that the accused were wanted in connection with a murder case and several other criminal incidents in the region. Security measures were intensified in the area following the operation.

Investigation Continues

Police are now questioning the accused and investigating their possible links to other crimes. Officials said further legal action is being taken under relevant sections of the law.
